G.A.P was formed on 1st August 1978 – started as a car accessory shop by husband & wife John & Helen Guest – Guest Auto Parts, hence G.A.P, eventually they had 6 shops around the Fylde coast area.
Due to the success of the business, we were approached by local forecourt owners asking us to source products for them, and due to the expansion of the business,s we moved to new premises on Mythop Road in Blackpool in 1993.
G.A.P was the founding member of a national group called Convenience Distribution Group (CDG for short) in 1996
In 2003, we celebrated 25 years in business, and by now our warehouse was 5,000 square feet – covering a similar area to James Hall Spar from Dumfries down to Wolverhampton across the Pennines, north Wales and the Isle of Man.
James Hall & Co bought GAP, and a year later in 2012, GAP moved into a purpose-built office & warehouse.
